The New Hampton and Branchville RR

South Carolina Public Railways SCRX 2003(GP16) sitting just off the connection to the CSX Augusta subdivision in Hampton.

Facing abandonment after it's 2013 shutdown after it's only customer SCE&G stop accepting coal at it's now closed Candys, S.C. coal power plant  the Original Hampton & Branchville RR had shut down and ceased operations. The state rail division(i.e. Palmetto Railways) had purchased the H&B RR from the previous owner after groups of numerous businesses and Colleton County came together to save the rail line from abandonment and to attract new customers to build near the rail line.
