The Conrail GP8s were originally dynamic brake equipped GP7s. They lost this feature when they were rebuilt.

According to "Conrail Motive Review Vol 1"; this unit was rebuilt by Morrison-Knutson 11/2/78 and is former Erie Lackawanna GP7 1278; originally Delaware Lackawanna & Western 959.
